Prunus avium Stella – Stella Cherry tree 6-8cm girth (Bare Root)

The Stella cherry has an upright habit that spreads with maturity. It also has green leaves and clusters of sweetly scented white flowers in spring.
The heavy crops of large, rich, black cherries are ready to harvest in July. These fruits have a gorgeous, sweet, flavour.
Grown on a Colt rootstock to produce a strong, healthy tree, the Stella cherry reaches a mature height of 5-6m.
Please note that this is a self-fertile variety, so it does not require a second cherry for pollination. In fact, it is a popular choice for pollinating other varieties of cherry.
Order a Stella cherry tree, bare root trees available from November to March!
If you are not planting the bare root tree immediately, store it in a cool, frost free shed or garage away from the sun or drying winds.
When planting, make sure that you heel the tree in tight to obtain good root/soil contact. You should also stake the tree to provide stability.
Bare root fruit trees are available to buy from November to March each year whilst the trees are dormant.

AFTER CARE / PLANT MAINTENANCE
Once planted, the Prunus avium ‘Stella’ will need watering throughout the first growing season, but make sure not to over / underwater.
Check tree tie / stake isn’t rubbing and / or too tight or too loose on the trunk.
Check for and remove any dead, decaying, diseased or crossing branches.
Remove any weeds from around the base of the Cherry tree (including grass).

- Soil : Fertile, moist well-draining soil.
- Hardiness : Prunus avium is hardy in the UK.
- Plant maintenance : Low maintenance. Regular pruning required.

Overnight to your door
We can delivery to you anywhere in England and Wales via an overnight courier service (two days for Scotland & Ireland).
Via Online Shop
Orders placed via our Online shop if placed by 10am Monday –Thursday can be delivered to you the very next day. If placed on a Friday – Sunday delivery would be on Tuesday.
We deliver by national overnight courier service.
Should you require a specific delivery date, let us know in advance and we will arrange for your delivery to arrive on your required date.
