Malus domestica ‘Granny Smith’ is a medium-sized, deciduous apple tree with green leaves. Find Granny Smith Apple tree for sale!
White flowers with a pink tint emerge in spring, and green eating apples appear in autumn. These apples have a recognisable sharp taste and tangy acidity.
Granny Smith apples are one of the best varieties for storing. Harvested fruit sometimes keeps until May.
This partially self-fertile apple should not need a pollinating partner to produce fruit. Cross-pollinate with pollination groups 2, 3 and 4 for a larger crop.
Grown on a MM106 rootstock to produce a strong tree. Granny Smith reaches a mature height of 5-6m and a mature spread of 4-5m.

If you are not planting the bare root tree immediately, store it in a cool, frost free shed or garage away from the sun or drying winds.
When planting a bare root tree, heel the tree in tight to obtain good root/soil contact and stake to provide stability.
Bare root fruit trees are available to buy from November to March each year whilst the trees are dormant.

AFTER CARE / PLANT MAINTENANCE
Once planted, Malus domestica ‘Granny Smith’ will need watering throughout the first growing season, but make sure not to over / underwater.
Check tree tie / stake isn’t rubbing and / or too tight or too loose on the trunk.
Check for and remove any dead, decaying, diseased or crossing branches.
Remove any weeds from around the base of the Malus domestica (including grass).

Overnight to your door
We can delivery to you anywhere in England and Wales via an overnight courier service (two days for Scotland & Ireland).
Via Online Shop
Orders placed via our Online shop if placed by 10am Monday –Thursday can be delivered to you the very next day. If placed on a Friday – Sunday delivery would be on Tuesday.
We deliver by national overnight courier service.
Should you require a specific delivery date, let us know in advance and we will arrange for your delivery to arrive on your required date.
