Malus domestica ‘Cox’s Orange Pippin’ – Apple tree 6-8cm girth Bare Root

Malus domestica ‘Cox’s Orange Pippin’ produces an eating apple that is popular for juicing and cider. Find Bare Root apple tree for sale!

This medium-sized, deciduous tree has green leaves and pale pink flowers that emerge in spring.

It produces classic English apples that are aromatic, crisp and flavourful. These apples have a greenish yellow skin flushed with orange and red.

Cox’s Orange Pippin reaches a mature height of 5-6m and a mature spread of 4-5m. It is grown on a MM106 rootstock to produce a strong tree.

This partially self-fertile apple should not need a pollinating partner to produce fruit. Cross-pollinate with pollination groups 2, 3 and 4 for a larger crop.

Once apples are ready to harvest, store them in a cool, dry place for three weeks.

Bare Root apple trees for sale online and at our tree nursery from November to March!

If you don’t intend to plant a bare root tree immediately, store the tree in a cool, frost free shed or garage.

This also helps to protect the tree from the sun or drying winds between lifting at the nursery and planting on site.

When planting, make sure that you heel the tree in tight to obtain good root/soil contact. You should then stake the tree to provide stability.
