Giving a tree or shrub as a present has become increasingly popular.

You are welcome to come and choose the exact tree from the nursery and we will deliver it to the recipient. However, if you do not live close to us, we can send you some photographs of our current stock so that you can still make a choice. We can wrap in hessian and provide a bow or ribbon together with a message card.

Some of the more popular gifts are Japanese maples, such as Acer palmatum ‘bloodgood’ or Acer palmatum dissectum. Flowering cherries such as, Prunus Kanzan or Prunus Pink perfection, with their stunning display of pink flowers in the spring. Fruit trees are also a great gift idea. Cox’s orange pippin or Bramley apples are sure to please or maybe Conference pear or Victoria Plum as favourite old English varieties. Perhaps the favourite gift tree for a smaller garden is the Magnolia ‘stellata’ has magnificent white flowers whilst ‘Susan’ is a very nice pink/purple flowered plant.

Of course, you may be planning a wedding this year and looking for inspiration. On many occasion customers have used us for their complete wedding list. Guests come along prior to the wedding and choose a tree or shrub they would like to give. We then deliver the total list just after the honeymoon.

You can buy trees, hedging, screening trees, shrubs and topiary online by browsing our website. If you do not see a plant or size that is suitable for you then please call as we stock a wide variety of plants in our tree nursery. It’s worth noting that many other websites sell other people’s stock (i.e. they act as an agent) so you cannot view the products at their own site. At King & Co, all of our advertised plants are available for viewing at our tree nursery in Rayne, near Braintree, situated just over an hours drive out of London.
