Hornbeam Hedging Packs

Carpinus betulus is widely planted in this country. Its full form is often used to create structure and screening. The native hornbeam is one of the most important trees in the British Isles. Its thrives on clay soils, amongst others and can be grown as a specimen tree or to form a spectacular hedge. Bright green ovate leaves turning orange-brown in the autumn and hang on the tree long into the winter.

Bare Root plants are available from early November to late March    We can take Pre-orders before this time and dispatch the plants as soon as they are available.

This Complete Hedging Pack contains, 60cm tall rabbit spiral guards and 90cm tall bamboo canes to assist planting your hedging. We calculate this based on 5 plants being used per metre in a double staggered row, with a rabbit spiral guard and bamboo cane for each plant.
