Biodegradable Tree Shelters – 1.2m Tall
The 120cm biodegradable tree shelters are made from a light brown custom soil biodegradable polymer, which is UV stabilized. Used to protect trees plants in the first years of growth from damage caused by grazing animals (rabbits, hares etc.), strimming and weed killer overspray.
These tree shelters can be easily transported, stored, installed and removed, the shelters use pre-fitted biodegradable cable ties as a fixing system where a 25mm square stake or a bamboo cane are fitted (both the stake and bamboo canes are sold separately). Designed with a flared upper rim avoid rubbing against the plant stem, the shelters have a laser line seam that allows the shelter to split away as the plant grows which prevents strangulation.
These biodegradable tree shelters provide around five years of growing protection and take up to two years to fully biodegrade, although this depends on site conditions. There is no need to collect, break up or bury the tree shelter as it slowly fragments and breaks down into the soil providing a food source for soil microorganisms. All that is left after this process is Biomass, Water and Minerals.
Tree shelters can increase growth by inducing a micro-climate inside of the shelter, whilst also contributing to natural pruning. The twin-walled tube construction makes this shelter very durable and easy to use. Plastic tree shelters are also available. PLANT INFORMATION

AFTER CARE / PLANT MAINTENANCE
- How to fit? : Install tree stake next to planted tree, place shelter over the tree and slide cable ties over the stake. Pull cable ties firmly to secure tree shelter to the stake.
- What happens as the tree grows inside? : Eventually the shelter will split along the laser line to prevent it strangling the tree.
- How does the tree shelter biodegrade? : There is no need to collect the tree shelter like traditional plastic alternatives. The shelter begins to fragment during the degrading process, breaking into flakes which provide a food source for soil microorganisms. After the shelter has broken down, all that remains is Biomass, Water and Minerals.

How can I expect delivery from King & Co?
Overnight to your door
We can delivery to you anywhere in England and Wales via an overnight courier service (two days for Scotland & Ireland).
Via Online Shop
Orders placed via our Online shop if placed by 10am Monday –Thursday can be delivered to you the very next day. If placed on a Friday – Sunday delivery would be on Tuesday.
We deliver by national overnight courier service.
Should you require a specific delivery date, let us know in advance and we will arrange for your delivery to arrive on your required date.

Please phone us to discuss, we are usually able to deliver to you via a dedicated vehicle.
For local deliveries
We will deliver to you in our local area and we will be pleased to arrange this with you whilst you are visiting our Nursery or via the phone. We also provide a planting service.
