Willow Leaved Pear Weeping (Pyrus salicifolia Pendula)

Weeping Willow leaved pear is a small tree with elegant, slender weeping branches. It has narrow lance shaped, willow like, greyish leaves which are covered in small velvety hairs when younger. In spring creamy-white flowers appear as the new leaves emerge.

The unusual colour foliage can provide a lovely contrast set amongst other darker trees. The tree is very adaptable and can be pruned and kept quite small if required. Its weeping branches are silver grey, giving good winter structure and interest. Mature height is 5-6m tall.

Grows in all soils and tolerates dry urban environments once established.

A great choice as a feature tree and its tolerance of hard pruning means it can be planted in smaller gardens as well.
