Medlar are a smaller size tree with a rounded shape crown and produce masses of large white flowers in spring.
Medlar produce an interesting fruit which is picked in October. The fruits are round and russet coloured and after picking are left to ‘blet’ to allow the flesh to become softer and sweeter before eating.
A lovely tree as an ornamental with the unusual fruit is something a little difference.
