European Larch (Larix decidua)

Common or European Larch is a large deciduous conifer with a very upright habit making it a good choice where a narrower crown is required. The conical crown is made up of soft, green needles which emerge vibrant green and turn to oranges and golden browns in the autumn, before falling completely for winter.

Produces small ovoid cones 2-5cm long which emerge dark red before turning brown.

Common Larch is a tough, fast growing tree suitable for most sites and soils.

It is incredibly tolerant of cold, and found in abundance on the slopes of the Alps.
