Planting Laurel to screen overlooking windows

Prunus laurocerasus (Cherry Laurel tree) is a large glossy leaved evergreen tree which is very fast growing. Cherry Laurel will make a very dense form of screening becoming thicker the more it is clipped.

Before & After following planting Prunus laurocerasus in a garden in Essex.

Prunus laurocerasus Standards are a superb screening tree that will grow around 18” every year.
You can create a raised evergreen barrier or hedge by planting these trees along a fence line about 1-1.5m apart to create privacy and screening. The height and width of the head will increase as it grows, stem height will remain the same. This is ideal for creating instant hedging with maximum privacy, without encroaching on the rest of your garden. If only one tree is required, it can be strategically placed to screen unsightly views from your property. Trees can be kept clipped in a more formal shape or left just to grow into their natural form.

These Pleached Laurel trees have an approx. 1.8m clear stem with the branches tied into a bamboo frame 1.5m wide and 1.25m tall and are the ideal way to screen above a fence and fast growing Laurel will fill the frames quickly to give full coverage.
